How did you get the idea for your business?
My idea early on for Kidoinfo was to use technology as a means to connect parents with their kids and their community offline. One of my favorite things about social media is the influence it has on my real-life world. I built Kidoinfo using social media tools and it has allowed me to meet, connect with and form a community with amazing parents and businesses. I feel connected and invested in my community more than ever.
I have a feeling this @ToryBurch bag will be put to good use this summer.

How did you get the idea for your business?
According to Jennifer Spaziano, co-founder of the Yoga and Pilates Passport, it’s often times daunting – and expensive – to decide where to start, or grow, your practice. A locally-grown project, the Yoga and Pilates Passport, connects yoga enthusiasts with hundreds of hours of
yoga and Pilates at numerous studios statewide at an affordable price.
“As a yoga teacher, I’ve heard from students that the hardest class to attend is the first one,” explains Ms. Spaziano. “And with so many different styles and levels, it’s confusing to know what’s best for each individual. Our mission is to reduce those barriers – time, money,
confusion – and get people to take the first step.
Additionally, the Passport seeks to support the growing, yet fragile, wellness industry in the State.” Joining forces with another friend and yoga teacher, Jenn Thomas, the two embarked on the
Passport project to overcome these barriers while building camaraderie among local wellness businesses. The Passport is available on line at www.yogaandpilatespassport.com.
“What we saw was an opportunity to create a platform that supports
an individual’s personal ‘Rhode to Wellness’”, Thomas said, alluding
to the parent company launching the Passport. “The Passport
inspires people to explore all that yoga and Pilates has to offer
locally – even for the current student who may be stuck in a rut and
needs motivation to explore new styles and teachers.”

Member Spotlight: Jaclyn Murphy and Kristin Marrah from LuniacGlamour

How did you get the idea for your business?
LuniacGlamour was born when two gals combined forces (formally LuniacStyle and Gloss & Glamour) to unite their dreams. Their concept is a fabulous full service salon; including hair, makeup, skin care, facials, waxing, lash extensions, airbrush tanning and nails all combined with a shoppe full of jewels, clothing, hair adornments, accessories, bags and bridal pieces by local Rhode Island designers. So stop in, get styled, shop your little heart out, and shine out the door! And don’t forget to tell everyone you know!
What has been the most challenging part of your business? What’s the best part?
The most challenging business is not having millions of dollars to do and execute all the ideas we have, however we tend to be pretty savvy with barely nothing into SOMETHING FABULOUS!
The best part is being able to own something that we’re proud of. It’s also a huge compliment to have people come into the shoppe/salon full of excitement and huge smiles at what we’ve created. We’re a one stop shoppe that focuses on such amazing local talent. We really feel proud to have and be a part of such a fun, fabulous, and exciting dream come true.
How did you get the idea for the name of your business?
We combined our former business names… LuniacStyle meets Gloss and Glamour. It felt like the perfect fit!
Launching tomorrow- can’t wait, lady!
I’m off to NYC!

Hi PVD Ladies!
Big news here: the time has come for me & Dear Kate to make the move to New York. I can’t express how much I have enjoyed meeting everyone in the PVD Lady Project over the past year and a half and how much I have learned from all our members. Thank you for inspiring me and creating something way bigger than Sierra and I ever imagined.
I’m excited to stay on board as the Lady Project’s NYC Correspondant meaning that I’ll be recruiting awesome speakers for future events and making connections between new friends and Providence members. Stay tuned for a possible NY based event in the future. :) And of course, if any of you are in NY, please let me know as I’d love to see you and if you need a place to stay while you’re visiting, you know how to reach me.
xo,
Julie
